Things to do with Mint
If you are like many folks this Derby Day, you bought lots of mint. Then you ran out of bourbon! Or ice? Didn’t like the leaves in your cup? Got too into the race, commenting on the hats or chats with friends? For whatever reason you didn’t finish it all.
What do you do with the leftovers when the juleps are done?
Still in the mood for minty alcohlic beverages? Make a mojito or caipirinha.
Need a nosh? Try tabouleh or moretum, or just toss the leaves in your next salad.
Feeling less than fresh after a big Derby party? Chew some leaves. The mint will help your breath and wake you up.
Not up for more mint just yet? Freeze some leaves in ice cubes to toss in iced tea or seltzer this summer. The leaves will turn black but still taste good. You can also dry the leaves for tea.
